This is how we will be screening our staff and clients for COVID-19

We will be using a screening tool every day to screen our staff and clients who are booking or visiting the clinic for any symptoms of COVID-19 for prevention of spread of COVID-19 which is based on the latest COVID-19 case definitions and the coronavirus disease situation reports published by the WHO. (resource Ministry of Health).

Following questions will be asked before booking an appointment on our online system or on phone and on arrival at the clinic. The screening result is not equivalent to a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. No cancellation fee will be charged to any patient for cancelling due to any of the following:

Q1- Is the person presenting with a fever, new onset of cough, worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing?

Q2- Did the person have close contact with anyone with acute respiratory Illness or travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days?

Q3- Does the person have a confirmed case of COVID-19 or had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?

Q4- Does the person have two or more of the following symptoms?
-Sore throat
-Hoarse voice
-Difficulty swallowing
-Decrease or loss of sense of taste or smell
-Chills
-Headaches
-Unexplained fatigue/malaise
-Diarrhea
-Abdominal Pain
-Nausea/vomiting
-Pink eye
-Runny nose/sneezing without other known cause
-Nasal congestion without other known cause

Q5- If the person is 65 years of age or older, are they experiencing any of the following symptoms: Delirium, unexplained or increased number of falls, acute functional decline, or worsening of chronic conditions?

If responses to all of the screening questions is No: COVID screen Negative and client can proceed to the appointment.
If responses to any of the screening questions is Yes: COVID screen Positive and appointment will be cancelled.
